Q. How do I know the right class for my young dancer?
A. The Studio offers one or more classes to a new dancer based on the dancer’s age, ability, experience, interest and dance discipline of choice.
Q. How long is the dance year?
A. This dance year begins in September and ends in June.
Q. What is expected of dancers?
A. It is expected that dancers will:
- Arrive at their lessons on time, prepared to dance
- Follow all Studio rules
- Respect fellow classmates and teachers
- Not bring gum or drink cans into a dance studio
- Not wear outside shoes in a dance studio
- Pick up after themselves—and use the waste bins.
- Have fun.
Q. Do I have to buy tickets for all shows?
A. No, mothers or female guardians may stay with their children in their changeroom area if they do not wish to watch one of the performances and take them home once they are finished and return to their change area.
Q. Does my child need a ticket if they are performing in the show?
A. Yes, a ticket is required for your child in order for them to have a seat to watch any acts they are not involved in. All students are more than welcome to stay and watch dress rehearsal at no cost, allowing parents to take pictures and Video tape (note- only one parent during dress rehearsal because of limited seating)
Q. Does my child have to be at all the shows ?
A. Yes, your dancer is part of a group and every one is part of the dance its not fare to the other dancers and its not teaching your dancer commitment .
Q. Does my dancer have to take exams?
A. No. The dance teacher may recommend it. But whether or not a dancer takes exams is up to the dancer and the dancer’s parents.
Q. Why Ballet
A. Ballet is the foundation of all dance. No matter what style you are doing, hip hop, tap, jazz, modern, ballet will help you. Ballet even helps sports professionals improve their balance, so it would definitely help you as a dancer. I would recommend taking ballet if you are able to.
